I am Annika, 25 years old and a hobby artist. I have been painting with watercolours and acrylics for many years and then in 2020 I decided to sell my artwork on Etsy and share it with the world. But I didn’t really start until 2021 with a broader product selection and a well thought-out concept.

I was inspired mainly by YouTube videos and Instagram accounts of other artists who have made themselves partly or completely independent. I had already created my first logo before I even knew what exactly I was supposed to sell, that’s how motivated I was. My tip to all those who are also interested and want to have their own Etsy shop: ‘If you can dream it, you can do it…’!

My start as an artist and my motivation:

I have been an artist since I was a child and have been passionate about watercolour art ever since. Over the years my methodology has evolved and grown immensely as I have tried different techniques and styles. From traditional to abstract painting, from realism to impressionism – it has been a journey of discoveries for me!

My passion for art has taken me all over the world, sending my work and prints to over 20 countries via Etsy. Through these experiences I have had the opportunity to share my art with people all over the world and exchange ideas about what inspires me most: creating something beautiful out of nothing but paint and canvas/paper!

I believe that anyone can be an artist if he or she puts their heart into it – there is no right or wrong way when it comes to expressing yourself through your craft. But like any other skill in life, it takes dedication and time. If you’re willing to try, anything is possible – even learning how to create stunning works of art with watercolour alone!

So don’t let fear stop you from taking the first steps on the path to becoming an amazing artist – take some time every day to improve your skills until all those little moments become a big masterpiece over time!
